Our Lions Club refurbishes and gifts 75 bikes, or more, each year to kids in our area.

A small cadre of Lions Club members have created a “Bikes for Kids” program that solicits used bike donations and then refurbishes them. The adult bikes are sold to raise money to buy new children’s bikes to give to needy families at Christmas. The donated children’s bikes are refurbished and given to school programs on bike safety and distributed throughout the year by the schools to deserving kids.

The Lions have partnered with the Walmart Foundation who have provided annual grants to help buy more bikes for the children at holiday time. Each year the program gives over 50 new bikes and about 25 refurbished children’s bikes to various school programs.
